Antique Early Georgian Galleried Console Hall Two Tier Table, c1760 A superb early Georgian oak galleried console or hall table, dating from circa 1760. This fine example of mid-18th-century craftsmanship features an elegant raised back with shaped gallery shelf and decorative chip-carved motifs, lending both presence and architectural form to the design. The front frieze is beautifully carved with scrolling foliage, complemented by diamond-patterned lozenge panels and turned baluster supports resting on block feet. Interesting brass candle holder still present to the right hand flank. The two-tier configuration — with a full lower shelf — provides both aesthetic balance and practical storage, ideal for displaying ceramics, books, or decorative objects. Richly patinated throughout, the dark oak has developed a deep lustre with warm tones characteristic of genuine Georgian furniture. Perfect for a hallway, country-house dining room, or period interior, this piece combines utility with stately elegance — a true statement of English domestic history.
