A huge solid oak chest of drawers with turned feet estimated to date to the Victorian period. These have come out of an old milliners shop which has closed down where they were used for many years. The oak has been heavily bleached by sunlight giving it a very light colour akin to driftwood which is really attractive. The chest is incredibly heavy so if you intend to collect please ensure that you have some help.

In lovely condition for its age. It's had some repairs to keep it functional, the base boards which you can't see were very damaged by woodworm, so these have been replaced with new wood. There's some woodworm holes here and there, and the bottom moulding has a little wood missing from damage from them, although this doesn't look to be a recent infestation we have given them a treatment to be sure. The bottom moulding has been replaced with a new piece on one end and a small piece that was missing on a top piece of moulding has also be replaced. Some of the drawers beading has been replaced, but there's still the odd little missing corner etc from wear. The new replacement pieces are a bit brighter in colour than the older wood, but it should fade down nicely over time. The top two drawers and half of the drawer below are a bit darker in colour than the rest where they were more in the shade so have not been bleached by the sun as heavily as the rest. The drawer knobs are all complete. Some of the drawers have their original glued in blue paper lining, this is worn and marked, but you could easily put your own choice of paper over the top. The drawers all run freely and bases are strong. The top is very clean and tidy, there's one very faint ring mark, and some other minor marks from use.
<p class="p3" style="margin: 0px; text-align: center; font-variant-numeric: normal;
