Painted Dresser in Hornblower Blue
After rescuing this dresser, destined for landfill, we gave it a bit of love and attention that it very much needed. From a drab, dark and dated brown, to this beautiful vibrant blue, this painted dresser is now fit for a life in a new more modern home.
We used Frenchic's Hornblower to refurbish this dresser, a striking beautiful blue. The dresser has a smooth finish, and its original brass handles that compliment the blue perfectly.
The painted dresser is made up of two parts - the top, with its glass fronted doors and two glass shelves. The glass shelves have a set position within the cupboard, though they can be removed for safe transport. The bottom part of the blue dresser consists of a single pull out drawer above a cupboard with two doors. We have painted inside this cupboard in Hornblower blue too.
The dresser splits in two for transport and is secured together at the back.
As with any piece of refurbished furniture that was destined for landfill, there may be some minor imperfections caused by general wear and tear over the years.

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
