This chair design is one of my favourites owing to the Arts and Crafts design of the back supports.
The middle set of spindles go below the seat at the back and join directly onto the rear stretcher.
The design is quite brilliant and makes for a robust chair that looks great.
Condition
The chairs are good or very good depending on your point of view. 
The chairs are in their used condition with marks and wear and have a great patina.
There are many marks and wear and some of the chairs have had some slight restoration
that includes removing and reglueing spindles making the chairs fit for use but please remember these
chairs are around 70 years old so are in no way perfect.
