Circ19 carpenter's trunk
Aged patina finish
Perfect for display chest for storage of collectables
Dimensions in centimetres are, Height:50 Width: 100 Depth:50
This apprentice piece has a beautiful patina with a timeworn crackle to the varnish. There are three wooden inserts that can be removed to gain access to banks of storage. The original brass plate with J.Powell engraved. In 1834 James Powell (1774–1840), then a 60-year-old London wine merchant and entrepreneur of the same family as the founder of the Scout movement, Robert-Baden, purchased the Whitefriars Glass Company, small glasswork off Fleet Street in London, believed to have been established in 1680. Powell, and his sons Arthur and Nathanael, were newcomers to glass making but soon acquired the necessary expertise. They experimented and developed new techniques, devoting a large part of their production to the creation of church-stained glass windows. This incredible tool trunk was used on naval ships by a gentleman who was a maritime engineer.
A great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior
Perfect for display chest for storage of collectables, crafts, or haberdashery

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
