Constructed in solid mahogany, the piece is arranged in a classic two over three configuration, offering generous and practical storage while maintaining a balanced, architectural silhouette. The chest is fitted with two short drawers over three long graduating drawers, each retaining its original circular brass knob handles and central escutcheons. The drawer fronts showcase attractive, flowing mahogany grain with a warm, mellow patina that has developed naturally over time. The drawers run smoothly and are well constructed, reflecting quality English cabinetmaking of the period. Standing on shaped bracket feet, the chest has a subtle serpentine influence to the lower apron, lending softness and elegance to its overall form.
