An outstanding Antique Large Triple Ash Arts and Crafts Wardrobe Compactum Armoire by Maple & Co, c.1900, beautifully showcasing the craftsmanship and design principles of the Arts and Crafts movement. Constructed in solid ash with excellent warm tones, the wardrobe features three doors — the central one inset with a full-length bevelled mirror, flanked by two panelled doors enriched with stylised floral carvings and geometric mouldings. Typical of the vernacular from Maple & Co from the period.
Deep flush moulded cornice over three individual wardrobe cupboard spaces. Left and right with open hanging rail over deep base drawer. Central section with open hanging space over three base drawers. Brass handles.
This substantial antique wardrobe provides generous interior storage, with hanging space and compartments that make it as functional today as when it was first commissioned. The proportions, quality of joinery, and the architectural presence of this armoire make it a statement piece in any bedroom or dressing room.
