Antique Late 18th-Century George III Period Welsh Oak Dresser, c.1770

An exceptional Late 18th-Century Welsh Oak Dresser from the George III period, circa 1770, displaying timeless craftsmanship and rich, well-aged patina. Constructed from dense, quarter-sawn oak, this fine dresser features a commanding twin-plank rack back with moulded cornice, flanked by shaped pilasters, and fitted with two open shelves ideal for the display of pewter, ceramics, or glassware.

The base presents an attractive symmetrical arrangement with five drawers over two fielded panel cupboard doors, all fitted with original brass knobs and diamond escutcheons. Central short drawers retain their Georgian brass hardware, each hand-dovetailed and oak-lined. Standing on traditional bracket feet, the whole piece exudes understated rural sophistication typical of 18th-century Welsh farmhouse furniture.
