This is an antique Edwardian  mahogany chair, with inlaid details and a newly reupholstered seat and restored seat pad in a colourful William Morris tapestry fabric. The seat has been rebuilt and the springs retied. The stuffing is renewed and done so in a traditional way using coir, wool and calico. It has been finished with braid.
The woodwork has been restored, by rubbing down and repolishing with a wax based wood treatment  bringing out the original patina and emphasising the beautiful decorative inlaid work.
The chair is in the Edwardian style which is  characterised by its lighter construction and decorative inlay work compared to earlier Victorian pieces.  It features a slim, mahogany frame with a high back decorated with a stylized central inlaid  panel. 
It stands on turned legs, with the front legs featuring ceramic casters.

NOTE. I aim to source / rescue quality furniture that just needs a bit of tlc to restore them to their former glory. I only use high end fabrics to give a bespoke quality feel to each piece. Using such fabrics always enhances the design and makes the whole process so enjoyable for me to work with and of course, for you to enjoy.
In order to comply with British Fire Safety Regulations 1988, all my re-upholstered furniture manufactured after 1st January1950 is re-upholstered using fire retardant material, or contains fire retardant linings such as barrier cloth or wool as a liner / padding.
