A striking vintage writing bureau, beautifully updated in an elegant Art Deco-inspired style while retaining the wonderful natural character of its figured walnut veneer.
The bureau features particularly attractive flame-like figuring across the wood, complemented by extensive warm brass detailing and distinctive fan-shaped brass handles. The combination gives the piece a wonderfully glamorous 1920s/30s-inspired appearance without overwhelming the original timber.
The fall front opens to create a practical writing or laptop surface, making this a beautiful yet genuinely useful piece for a home office, bedroom or living space. Generous storage is provided through the drawers and lower double cupboard.
Inside, the bureau has been newly lined in a selection of coordinating teal, cream and blue Art Deco-inspired geometric prints. The vivid interior provides an unexpected contrast against the rich walnut exterior and ties beautifully into the period-inspired character of the piece.
