A pair of Victorian dining or hall chairs lovingly cleaned, restored and reupholstered using a William Morris Tapestry fabric called 'Blackthorne'. This design dates to 1892. Beautifully detailed floral style with stylised leafy embellishments.¹
Each chair has undergone a thorough clean with wire wool and spirit to remove the years of polish and grime. Then the woodwork has been waxed and polished. The seats have been reglued to the leg frames and both are now in sound condition.
The seats have new foam pads and are interlined with flame retardant wool.
This pair would complement any room or hallway, but they are very old and may not withstand the rigors of normal family use.
Due to their delicate construction, great care will be taken to ensure they arrive at their destination unscathed, by using a specialist antique furniture courier.
I aim to source / rescue quality furniture that just needs a bit of tlc to restore them to their former glory. I only use high end fabrics to give a bespoke quality feel to each piece. Using such fabrics always enhances the design and makes the whole process so enjoyable for me to work with and of course, for you to enjoy.
NOTE. In order to comply with British Fire Safety Regulations 1988, all my re-upholstered furniture manufactured after 1st January 1950 is re-upholstered using fire retardant material, or contains fire retardant linings such as barrier cloth or wool as a liner / padding.
