This beautiful chair deserved all the time and effort it took to restore it back to it's former glory. It' is old and the wooden birch frame has many scars from use and natural wear. The front left leg has been invisibly repaired, otherwise the frame is in great condition having been respectfully treated and repainted in an antique white furniture paint. The original woodcut decor motifs and carvings are in tact.
The upholstery has been completely replaced with the internal padding replaced in a traditional way. The top fabric is a blue / grey stripe silk. The original feather cushion has been topped up and re-covered. A traditional braid has been used to finish the upholstery.
Much time, care and love has gone into transforming this very pretty traditional French chair.

NOTE. I aim to source / rescue quality furniture that just needs a bit of tlc to restore them to their former glory. I only use high end fabrics to give a bespoke quality feel to each piece. Using such fabrics always enhances the design and makes the whole process so enjoyable for me to work with and of course, for you to enjoy.

In order to comply with British Fire Safety Regulations 1988, all my re-upholstered furniture manufactured after 1st January1950 is re-upholstered using fire retardant material, or contains fire retardant linings such as barrier cloth or wool as a liner / padding.
