Unique bespoke Handpainted Antique Oak Sideboard with Spiral Barley Twist legs Dresser, Buffet.
Dated between late 1800s early 1900s
Dresser has been restored by giving it a new lease of life with great attention to detail using non toxic lead free chalk paint from Anniesloanhome and mixed media techniques.
This included, blending colours, warm Chicago Grey with hint of Old White by Graphite mixed with Honfleur and black ebony colour stain.
The addition of silk floral fabric on the sides and background of the dresser matched incredibly with the blend of this greige cabinet.
Fiber decoupage from redesign with prima covering the bottom of the inside the drawers.
Stencils used together with chocolate paint to the drawers to make this piece a pretty surprise when you open the drawer out.
Inside the cabinet and drawers it's been treated with a delicate white tea scented wax from wise owl.
Front and top and also the inside of the cabinet door of the dresser are featuring the stunning transfers from Ironorhid design.
All, at the end, been covered and sealed with anniesloan clear wax.
The top was sanded to the raw wood and then protected by fusion mineral paint stain and oil in one in cappuccino colour keeping the original wood grain to match the colour scheme of this solid wood dresser.
To give this piece a unique dimensional look I achieved by adding dark and black wax and corners and edges are highlighted with anniesloan gilding wax in copper and silver finishes.
New hardware was added to the doors of the cabinet. Drawers still keeping their original beautifull knobs but giving them the extra shine with some gilding wax.
The top part does come apart for ease of moving or if you decide on splitting them apart.
This bespoke glamorous dresser will make a striking addition to any modern home.
Please note that this is an antique furniture and despite the fact it's been throughout cleaned, primed and professionally restored with attention to detail it still might have some marks here and there especially inside of it due to its previous life which only all adding the originality to its beauty.
Dimensions are as follows:
W 122cm
D 47cm
H 180cm

"Fantastic website and customer service, cabinet as described and good quality, good value for money and regular communication contact from Upcite. The ethos behind the company is ethical and sustainable which is refreshing. Will definitely buy from this company again. Product furs in with our house restoration perfectly thank you".

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".

"I am very pleased with the look and quality of the sideboard and enclose a photo of it in-situ in our hallway.  It fits perfectly.  Thank you for the extreme thoroughness of the packing (it must have taken ages, as it took me a long time to unpack) and it arrived intact. Just one little blip, the tape caught a tiny bit of paint on the bottom edge which came away, but I have been able to touch this in, so no problem with the overall look.
I also added some sensor lights inside to help identify the contents as the interior was dark.  They work a treat".

Gorgeous display cabinet

We ordered a beautiful display cabinet for our living room. The finish is absolutely beautiful and we’ve already had lots of wonderful comments. It’s great to have a totally bespoke piece.

The seller, Painted Orchard, kept me informed about the delivery at all times and went above and beyond. When one of the glass shelves accidentally got chipped during packaging, he immediately informed me. He sent the cabinet anyway as scheduled so I would have it on time (the chip was hardly noticeable) but then sent on a recut replacement glass shelf. Concerned with how easily the original one had chipped, he ordered new shelves for the whole cabinet in a slightly thicker glass and sent them all at no extra cost. First class service.

The whole experience using this website has been great and I’ve recommended to several friends. We’re already looking around our home wondering where we could fit another piece of furniture!!

beautiful bedside table

I bought a bedside table from Monika - it was exactly as it looked in the photo. She was brilliant at communicating and it arrived really well packaged. I will definitely use Upcite again.

Multiple items

I inherited a range of “Priory” dark brown wood furniture from my grandmother when she passed away in 1996. I never really liked it much but at the time I lived in an early Victorian property, so it didn’t look out of place. When I moved to a farm cottage, years later, the furniture unfortunately didn’t suit the style of this home. Aside from the significant sentimental value, I was also torn between the decision to want to redecorate my home, the desire not to throw away good quality furniture, and knowing that selling it would be difficult as the existing style would not be particularly desirable. With that in mind I started researching designers that would be able to ‘upcycle’ this furniture. I found Demi via Upcite and we connected. Demi and I discussed possible styles and concepts through WhatsApp video calls and I felt like we designed every piece together. I had some clear ideas as to the style I wanted but no idea how the pieces could be brought together in a way that could showcase them at their best. Demi has immense skill in interpreting and understanding what a customer wants and being able to subsequently develop the ideas further and translate that into very high-quality finished products. My furniture looks exactly how I wanted it; in fact, it actually looks better! I would highly recommend Demi to anyone wishing to restyle their furniture. If I had to do this project again, there’s nothing I would change. In addition to the style and the quality of Demi’s work, her customer focus and communication is 100%. This has been such a positive experience, watching the development of my ideas turning into designs that are really special. ❤️
