The style is very typical of the French Louis XV and is likely to have been manufactured around the 1920s
It has elaborate wood carvings all around the top rail and front of seat, sides and legs.
The cane seat was damaged, I have replaced the cane with a built in cushion seat on flexible webbing, making it a rather comfortable chair. Dome head nail trim in brass to finish. I wanted to keep as much of the beautiful show wood exposed as possible.
The dull walnut frame has been cleaned, waxed and sealed bringing back its original satin shine with the beauty of the wood and its markings beautifully enhanced.
This chair is such a stunner, it's unusual design and beautiful wood finish makes it a real show stopper suitable for any position where elegance and beauty is the aim.
The chair's measurements in centimetres as follows:
Height 76, Width 73, Depth 54, Seat Hsight 42,
Seat Depth 42.
A careful carrier will be used to deliver the chair to you at a convenient time.
NOTE. I aim to source / rescue quality furniture that just needs a bit of tlc to restore them to their former glory. I only use high end fabrics to give a bespoke quality feel to each piece. Using such fabrics always enhances the design and makes the whole process so enjoyable for me to work with and of course, for you to enjoy.
In order to comply with British Fire Safety Regulations 1988, all my re-upholstered furniture manufactured after 1st January1950 is re-upholstered using fire retardant material, or contains fire retardant linings such as barrier cloth or wool as a liner / padding.
Please note, most of my furniture pieces are listed on several online market places and one physical shop. As such, on rare occasions it happens that a piece becomes unavailable at short notice.
