Edwardian Mahogany Triple Door Wardrobe

A handsome and substantial Edwardian mahogany triple-door wardrobe, offering generous hanging space together with particularly attractive period detailing.

The wardrobe has a moulded overhanging cornice above three full-height doors, with decorative carved detailing to the two outer doors and a large bevelled mirror to the central door. The mahogany has developed a warm, characterful colour with some variation and discolouration from many years of use and positioning within a room.

Internally, the wardrobe is beautifully finished in a contrasting light maple, which is an especially attractive feature. The right-hand single section has a short hanging rail together with six hooks, while the larger double section behind the left and central doors provides a longer hanging rail and nine hooks, giving plenty of practical storage.

The two outer doors lock using the same working key.

Below are two large and useful drawers, both running well and retaining matching traditional handles. The wardrobe stands on attractive rounded bun-style feet, completing its elegant Edwardian appearance.

Condition: Solid and sturdy overall with general marks, knocks and wear consistent with age and previous use. The sides and cornice are generally in good condition. There is some variation and discolouration to the finish across the front, most likely resulting from its position and exposure to light over many years. Please study the photographs carefully for the overall condition.

For transportation, the wardrobe conveniently dismantles into four main sections: the cornice, drawer base, right-hand single wardrobe section and left-hand double section. When reassembling, the smaller section can be a little stiff to locate into position, but the sections do fit together correctly.

A particularly attractive and practical period wardrobe, with the combination of mahogany exterior, maple-lined interior, carved detailing and central bevelled mirror giving it considerably more character than many wardrobes of the period.
