Description

Here we have a Marwood Dining Table and Chairs in a Rio Rosewood by Gordon Russell. Designed by Martin Hall. This table was part of a limited edition and this is the very first, 1 of 200. see sticker on leaf. The table extends with two leaves to over 3 metres, both are in excellent condition with one very slightly faded more than the other due to use. The table would easily seat 12 when fully extended. It is finished in a repeating Rio Rosewood veneer and is complete with a Cites certificate 26GBA10H15KFK. It comes with 8 dining chairs two of them carvers. The chairs are in their original fabric and despite the images they are pink with an orange and red fleck. The fabric on the back edge of both carvers has failed see images but dose not effect the functionality. Frames are solid and finished in a Rose Wood to match table. Like the table the chair frames are free from damage or repairs.  A rare set to find both table and chairs together and brilliant to be the very first in their limited run of 200. Dated 1973. The legs are removeable to get it into your home if required.  

Condition

Table is in superb condition with additional leaves. The table has slight marks from 53 years of use but is excellent with only the lightest of marks and knocks to edges. The extra leaves look like one was used more often than the other but this really is minor see images they really are a pleasing match. Chairs are in  original fabric. Sun faded and there are some marks to seats, these are not bad marks. In two places the fabric is starting to split and the base cover at the back of each carver has suffered from splitting. See images. Overall for 53 years this dining table and chairs are in good condition.
