This upcycled solid pine Victorian chest of 5 drawers is more than just furniture—it's a living testament to history. Every inch of its surface seems to echo with the tales of its previous owners, each stripe of paint a chapter in its story. Every time I glance at it, I'm drawn into its past, feeling the presence of those who once cherished it.
It has all the charming quirks of the Victorian-era, but now with a fresh, contemporary feel. Meticulously hand-painted in warm creamy white and sage green stripes and finished with a semi matte varnish, some of its original drawer handles still boast those adorable mother of pearl inserts, and those that were missing have been recreated to blend beautifully.
The top has been sanded smooth and nourished with a warm golden brown finishing oil.
The inside of each drawer has been cleaned and nourished with a natural furniture oil.
The whole chest is a touch of old-world glam with a cosy, welcoming vibe that fits perfectly into any style of home.
One of the biggest draws, (no pun intended), of these drawers is the fact they all have a keyhole. Sadly, no key, but I wonder what secrets were locked away….. diaries, love letters, lacy undergarments, or perhaps it was simply used for linen storage and kept locked up by the housekeeper.

We've bought a few items from Upcite and haven't been disappointed. The website is easy and straightforward to navigate. Photos of the furniture pieces are spot on and so too the additional notes which are very informative. There's a great selection of product too.
I was very impressed with the quality of the service from Upcite. The communication by the artist Alex has been excellent and the delivery by the courier 5 stars service. The chest of drawers with mural design is a statement piece in my bedroom and I adore it. Klimt is my favourite artist and I am now interested in more similar pieces to add to the collection.

Yes, we received the cabinets on Monday and we are very pleased with them; they even look better than the photo. We also had a chair delivered via Upcite last Friday of which we were equally pleased with. We have one more unit on order which we are very much looking forward to seeing. I’ll send you photos as soon as I can, but our house is a mess at the moment as it’s being decorated.
I highly recommend this shop and the products that they sell. I am a huge fan of small business owners selling high-quality hand-made crafts and Upcite was exactly what I was then looking for. The lovely coasters that Kerry, the designer and the seller, created were very beautiful and just what I needed and she made a special arrangement for my request that I needed two sets of the coasters at the same time even though there was only one set in stock. Both the Upcite manager and Kerry responded very quickly when I made a mistake in giving the wrong postal address and I really appreciated for their quick response. The coasters are a special gift for a special person whose office has been recently renewed. He was so pleased when he received the lovely hand-made coasters and we had a lovely time together in his new office over a cup of tea. All in all, it has been a very pleasant and special shopping experience and I will definitely shop again in the near future!
