We used reclaimed pine wood and we carefully choosing pieces with beautiful wood grain. This table top was made using Japanese Yakisugi technique which consist of charring the wood to achieve enhanced beautiful wood grain, this technique seals the wood pours and prolongs life of the wood, making it water proof and super nice texture of the wood grain. This process makes wood very durable and scratch resistant. For this particular coffee table I used bright green colour to make it super happy and unique piece of furniture. Table top finished with clear wax for protection and black wax was used for the edges of the wood to add the dimension in the colours.

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
