A most attractive Victorian mahogany oval occasional table, standing on a classic tripod base with a beautifully turned and decorative central column support.
The table boasts a rich, warm mahogany tone throughout, enhanced by a wonderful aged patina that highlights the natural grain and character of the wood. The oval top has been secured in a permanent fixed position (no longer tilting), providing a solid and practical surface for everyday use.
The elegant tripod base is well proportioned and sturdy, with gracefully shaped legs flowing from the finely turned central support — a hallmark of Victorian craftsmanship.
There are some light surface marks and signs of age-related wear, entirely in keeping with an antique of this period and adding to its charm and authenticity (please see all photographs).
A versatile and decorative piece, ideal as a lamp table, occasional table or side table, and equally at home in both traditional and modern interiors.
