Vintage Chippy Heath telephone seat / hallway bench made in the 1960s. In very good condition, this piece has been professionally restyled and reupholstered to create a bold and genuinely unique piece. It has a wide, padded seat - perfect to sit in whilst putting on shoes - and a small cupboard space that is accessed via a drop down door. The pull-out shelf with a wipeable surface is typical of Chippy telephone seats.

Made from teak, this compact and practical piece would look fabulous in any hallway or room. The padded seat has been reupholstered using a cotton rich upholstery fabric with a vibrant retro print. The wood, sanded back and oiled/waxed to bring out the beauty of the wood. The legs and frame have been painted using a water based satin paint colour matched to Farrow & Ball Railings, whilst the sides of the cupboard have been painted using a soft green (Farrow & Ball Treren). These colours compliment the natural wood and give the piece a more contemporary look.

This is a vintage piece that has already put in circa 50 years of loyal service. Whilst it’s ready to take on the next half century in style, it may show some minor signs of wear - that said it is in very good condition inside and out.
