A mid-1800s writing desk of Continental origin, showcasing supreme quality craftsmanship. Made from rosewood inlaid with satin walnut, this beautiful and rare item features a central drawer flanked by a pair of smaller drawers on each side, with original brass castors and drawer handles. There is a historical repair to the rear left-hand leg just above the castor, which is a beautifully crafted piece of mastery. The desk stands strong and firm with no wobbles. The red leather, gilt-embossed top is in very good condition, and all the drawers move smoothly. The rosewood back allows it to sit gracefully in the center of a room. Dimensions: Height 72 cm, Width 91 cm, Depth 53.5 cm at the deepest part, Knee Gap Height 57.5 cm.
