A fine 19th-century Victorian military campaign secretaire chest, crafted in rich mahogany with brass fittings.
Made in two sections for portability—a defining feature of campaign furniture used by British officers.
The chest offers five drawers, including a concealed secretaire drawer with a fall-front opening to a fitted interior of five small drawers and three pigeonholes, finished with delicate brass knobs and a scalloped arch detail.
Recessed brass handles, reinforced corner brackets, and side straps reflect its military origins while adding to its durability and character.
Raised on turned bun feet, this is a practical yet elegant piece, ideal for both classic and contemporary interiors.
