Vintage Oak Sideboard

A handsome vintage oak sideboard with attractive carved decoration and classic period detailing.

The piece is arranged with two drawers over two cupboard doors, each cupboard fitted internally with a shelf providing excellent storage. The drawers retain their original decorative metal handles, adding to the character and authenticity of the piece.

The cupboard doors feature a lovely moulded and carved design, creating a strong visual focal point across the front elevation. The sideboard stands on elegant frontal barley twist supports united by a stretchered base, giving it a traditional and well-balanced appearance.

Originally this sideboard would have had a gallery back, which can be seen from the dowel holes present along the rear edge of the top.

The oak has developed a warm and attractive patina over time. There are some light scuffs and marks consistent with age and use, but nothing of significance to detract from the piece. It remains solid, sturdy and ready for use.

The sideboard comes complete with a key to lock the cupboards although the left hand side lock is temperamental
