These upcycled vintage steamer trunks are made into gorgeous, one-of-a-kind chairs, while keeping as much of the original trunk as possible. 
So if you are searching for a statement piece, this is sure to make a lasting impression.

Elevate your space
The body of this case has been given a modern olive green silk finish, while the metalwork has been completed in a beautiful aged copper. 
To complete the look, the seat is finished in a Chestnut brown faux leather, and accented with three matching buttons to add that finishing touch. 

Distinctive
Each chair has a distinct name, this one is Peace. I choose names which have a connection to the trunk's past. Whether that is part of a former owners name, address, or a place featured on an old travel ticket. 

Work Involved
The original metal bands were heavily rusted, and given the uncertain age of the case, there was a possibility that the flaking paint was lead based. To ensure it was safe, the case was fully disassembled, stripped of all the old paint before getting an updated colour pallet. 

It's very important to know that these chairs do not come in perfect condition. This is because I want the case to keep some link to it's past. So if the body or fittings had any kind of minor damage then it has been left this as it is. 
Safety
This chair does have a barrier fabric that is a Schedule 3 interliner and ignition source 5 (crib 5) standards of the Furniture and Furnishings 1988 (Fire Safety) Regulations for domestic and commercial use.
The seat foams used have been tested by our supplier(s) to ensure compliance with the relevant Furniture & Furnishings Regs 1988 (Fire Safety) Schedule 1,Pt 1. The outer leather is also match resistant. The seat is made using very firm foam.
