Vintage washstand and dresser set.

We sourced this set from a lovely gent. It had belonged to his gran ageing it 100+ years.

They both were in good solid condition but needed a lot of tlc. After prep, including sanding and cleaning, we went in with our own blend of quality paints to create a light dove grey finish. The handles sadly could not be saved so were replaced with vintage sprayed silver to the three drawers and beautiful ceramic rose knobs were added to the cupboard doors, small jewellery drawers and the mirror posts as finials. 

New brass castors were added to the washstand which aids movement. Those slabs of intact marble are heavy! 

The cupboards and drawers were lined in a quality scalloped paper which compliments it beautifully. The mirror fully tilts and does show some age marks and scratches to the glass, but doesn't not detract from its use.

Finally a beautifully romantic rose transfer was painstakingly added to both pieces including inside the cupboard doors and trailing across the mirror.

Both pieces fully sealed with two coats of Polyvine dead flatte varnish. 

We could see these in a country cottage or wedding venue. It really is such a pretty set.
