Its original finish was gently removed while preserving the natural patina beneath, allowing the timber to retain the depth and individuality that only age can create. A Jacobean oak stain enriches the grain with warm, grounded tones, resulting in a finish that feels established rather than newly applied, textured, nuanced and full of quiet character.

Its silhouette remains true to its Victorian origins. Clean proportions, barley twist legs and panelled cupboard doors lend elegance and balance, while the original brass hardware introduces subtle contrast and a sense of continuity with the piece’s past.
