After Montague Dawson, The Windsor Castle, limited edition coloured print, numbered 184/200 and signed by Lord Mountbatten of Burma, mounted within a gilt swept frame.

Signed by Mountbatten of Burma in lower right margin. Numbered in pencil in lower left side 184/ 200 and marked UK, to denote this print was for sale in the UK market - others were marked USA & Euro.

It Is a large and dramatic nautical print, published to commemorate the death of the artist, Montague Dawson, and personally signed in his honour by Lord Louis Mountbatten of Burma.

The 'Windsor Castle' was a ship of the Blackwall line and was built in William Pile’s yard, in Sunderland, in 1827 for the owner Richard Green, with a gross tonnage of 1075 tons and a length of 195 feet.

Montague Dawson was one of the foremost nautical painters of the 20th century. Though often depicting clipper ships from the 19th century, he sometimes depicted ships from the late 17th-century, as in one of his most famous works The Crescent Moon, which shows a three-decker pirate ship on a calm night in the Southern seas. Born on September 19, 1890 in London, United Kingdom, Dawson had no formal art training, but began to draw as a child and developed his illustration skills at a commercial art studio in 1910. Even after joining the Royal Navy, the British artist continued to submit his work to publications such as Sphere and The Graphic. He died on May 21, 1973 in Midhurst, United Kingdom at the age of 83. Dawson’s highly realistic style of maritime painting and dedication to technical accuracy has made him into a particularly popular seascape artist, and his works can be found in the collections of the Royal Naval Museum in Portsmouth and the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, United Kingdom.

Timeless Furniture LTD UK (Wrexham) - thank you! Highly recommended.

This is the second time we've bought off Upcite and will always return. This time around, we bought a Victorian Mahogany Chest Of Drawers (£429 including P&P) from Timeless Furniture LTD UK. We contacted Timeless Furniture (Wrexham) through the messages section and they (Dave) were super helpful in confirming P&P will be covered their end but also went out of their way to coat the chest of drawers with another round of woodworm treatment, which was much appreciated. The drawers had been treated before but Dave offered to do it again to allay our concerns. So, once they confirmed this we punched it. The drawers then arrived via courier about a week later and packed very well, arriving in one piece and no damage. Highly recommend Upcite and Timeless Furniture LTD UK. Pete

Nest of tables

The nest of tables are very tastefully done, they are the final piece of furniture in our living room and we're very happy with them. Comms with J&M were great and the tables were packaged very well so arrived in perfect condition. We will definitely buy from UpCite and J&M again when we next need a beautiful piece of furniture. Many thanks

Happy with my cabinet

An absolutely stunning, one-of-a-kind vintage cabinet, lovingly restored by Julie and Mark, whose craftsmanship and attention to detail really shine through. The delivery process, unfortunately, didn’t go to plan, with damage caused by the courier, but both Cole at Upcite and Julie and Mark were incredibly supportive throughout. They pushed to have the piece properly repaired and kept me updated the whole way. Thanks to their persistence and care, the cabinet looks just as gorgeous in my home as I’d hoped. A true statement piece

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
