This stunningly reimagined drinks cabinet is the epitome of refined elegance.
It’s breathtakingly beautiful and completely unique.
“Alouette”, meaning “Lark”, features a central, antique walnut cabinet with 2 doors, that open to reveal the original mirror to the back of the piece. A curved shelf, with a guard, protects your bottles and glassware, and the original cocktail picks are now cleaned and refinished.
Beneath the cabinet are two drawers for extra storage, and the addition of an LED light makes this piece as practical as it is beautiful.
The whole piece sits atop charming, cabriolet-shaped legs, that have been finished in a neutral shade with gold features, perhaps looking as if they could dance the “can-can” at the drop of a hat!
There is just so much to admire about this cabinet, from the walnut burr wood, to the dark wax and gold leaf detailing that highlights the carvings.
The simply stunning choice of Chinoiserie paper panels, with the tiny songbirds, soft pink petals, and delicate leaves, does more than merely “decorate” the cabinet. This paper beautifies it, and the hand-painted details add an element of beauty.
The interior has been refurbished in a delicate vintage palette of pale blue, and the wooden drawers have been finished with a specialist furniture salve that smells divine.
All the original hardware has been refreshed in a darkened gold shade, and the cabinet is lockable with a key. The whole piece is finished with a beautiful Chinese-themed lock and key plate and silk tassel.
The cabinet is truly mesmerising, everywhere you look there is something to feast your eyes on. An absolutely gorgeous piece that would look amazing in your dining or family room.

I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard.
