Antique Continental Walnut & Mahogany Wardrobe
This antique Continental walnut & mahogany wardrobe, likely of French origin, is a striking and elegant piece that combines ornate craftsmanship with practicality. Featuring a beautifully carved pelmet above a large, shaped, bevel-edged mirrored door, this wardrobe is further complemented by a long drawer beneath, all adorned with graceful metal handles. It terminates on turned supports, adding to its classic appeal.
Internally, the wardrobe offers generous storage, with a full-sized hanging rail and ten hooks secured to the back and sides, making it perfect for organizing clothing and accessories. The wardrobe splits into three parts for easier movement and transport, though it remains a heavy and solid piece of furniture.
The wardrobe boasts a lively color and patina, with some marks and scuffs to the body, as well as a small chip of wood missing from the right-hand side of the pelmet return. Additionally, while the wardrobe door knob doesn’t catch properly, the door still closes securely and remains in place.
Despite these minor imperfections, this wardrobe remains an exceptionally elegant piece with timeless beauty and functionality. It’s built to last for generations, blending seamlessly into any room while offering ample storage.

We have installed the Mahogany Chippendale Show Cabinet today! I have attached some photos of it in situ. We are planning to have a photoshoot in a few weeks where it will be dressed with glasses etc. I will be sure to send some more over then- it’s going to be a showstopper! It is a very beautiful piece and we are really happy with the purchase.
Honestly, I wish I could give six stars because five just doesn’t feel like enough! (I never give five as there’s always room for improvement.) But I genuinely can’t think of how they could have done this better. In this day and age, you’re lucky if people even turn up, so this level of service was a breath of fresh air. The sellers were absolutely superb—they personally delivered the chest of drawers, blanket-wrapped for extra protection, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The piece itself is stunning. The rich Aubusson Blue, the jungle-inspired details, and the gold accents all come together beautifully. You can tell a lot of care went into restoring it. I’d love to have more pieces like this to match and complete my home.

Absolutely love my table. I live in a Victorian building with a narrow enclosed staircase. The seller unscrewed the top from the legs for me so that it could be carried up the stairs. Everything was perfect.
