'The Roses'

A beautiful refurbished antique side/end table which I have named ‘The Roses’. She is a stylish and elegant table, a one-off, bespoke piece of furniture that has two small storage drawers, complete with original handles and a feature lower shelf area.

I have worked extremely hard preparing ‘The Roses’ prior to hand-painting her with a quality white chalk paint, complimented by silver highlights on the leg carvings, then carefully decoupaging with the delicate rose design. Finally, finishing with lacquer to ensure the table is both hardwearing and fit for purpose.

‘The Roses’ has been upcycled to a high standard so that she can be enjoyed for many years to come.

‘The Roses’ is an antique end table, produced by Priory Furniture Ltd and still has the original Priory sticker in one of the drawers as seen in the photo. The company was founded originally as Bennett Woodworking on 1st June, 1945 by David Provan, a man who had been involved in the design of the De Havilland Mosquito during WWII. Initially based on Erskine Street in Hulme, Manchester, the company produced period and retro style antique furniture.

With this in mind, ‘The Roses’ has had a previous life and you may find signs of wear because when I work on individual pieces of furniture I try to ensure I maintain their age. Also there may be slight imperfections due to the nature of the individual craft being used during the refurbishment process, which is completely carried out by hand. I believe both of these things to be features that add to the character and uniqueness of each piece I recreate.

Kraken Drawers

My new table arrived from PinkDotUpcycling at Upcite and omg I'm in love! I so miss being able to do this kind of thing myself, but cannot fault the work done to bring this table back to life and just look how stunning my kraken's bride is!! . Off to follow the FB groups now to see what other unique pretties I can find! Technically a lamp table, but us three being shorties means it will work just fine for crafting, science experiments etc. . . Only opened up to protect the artwork and a table cloth!.
