Meet ‘Ellis’.

Ellis is a 1920’s Burr Walnut, Art Deco, Vintage, Linen Cupboard, Tall Boy, Chest of Drawers.

With 3 deep, large drawers, and 3 shelves, this piece of furniture provides ample storage. It would adorn any bedroom as a chest of drawers/tall boy or a hallway/dining room to store linen, games, toys or whatever you wish.

Professionally cleaned, primed & the body painted in ‘Manor Green’ - an opulent, deep, bottle green. Gold feet & gold accents highlight the Walnut veneer.

New Art Deco style resin handles have been added, with accompanying back plates in green. They have been highlighted with gold gilding wax creating a luxurious feel.

The Walnut has been fully restored & oiled in a hard wax oil. The whole piece has been protected in an extremely hard wearing finish, which provides a subtle sheen.

The entirety of the piece inside has been waxed & the cupboard & shelves painted in a soft off white, paint in ‘Oyster’, to brighten & freshen the interior. The inner doors showcase an elegant peacock stencilled design to add a little opulence.

This piece also features the original makers mark to the rear; which provides historical provenance to this piece of vintage furniture. ⁣

This piece of furniture is structurally solid, with perfectly smooth running drawers, & doors. Ellis would be the talking point of any contemporary space. ⁣

****PLEASE NOTE: the top shelf of the cupboard has a very slight bow to the wood. I purposefully chose not to replace this due to the pieces history. It does not effect its use in any way, and is barely noticeable.

Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I am very pleased with the look and quality of the sideboard and enclose a photo of it in-situ in our hallway. It fits perfectly. Thank you for the extreme thoroughness of the packing (it must have taken ages, as it took me a long time to unpack) and it arrived intact. Just one little blip, the tape caught a tiny bit of paint on the bottom edge which came away, but I have been able to touch this in, so no problem with the overall look.
I also added some sensor lights inside to help identify the contents as the interior was dark. They work a treat".

Very happy with item

We found this really good website called Upcite where we saw lots of different and unusual furniture. We were after something oldie looking to go under the eaves in our little snug room that has oak beams. This needed to be a specific size and look. Soo pleased when we found the Upcite website with a range of possibilities. We ordered a sideboard and it arrived within a few days and fits perfectly. It now looks lovely with it’s Christmas Garland on! From our experience we would recommend Upcite to others.

Item is nice but experience wasn't great

I did eventually receive the sideboard after a lot of back and forth, and the seller reached out to me. It arrived with a few scratches but that’s not the sellers fault and can be touched up. The experience however was rather stressful. I wish the seller had been as proactive from the start and not only after I complained, as it is simply nerve wrecking to spend close to £1000 and then never really hear from them and having to chase them repeatedly and the item not being delivered when it was agreed. Overall I am happy with the sideboard, but my experience wasn’t great and that’s how I genuinely feel.
