Meet ‘Moonshine’.
An Art Deco, circa 1910-1930 flame mahogany, veneered cabinet.
The top was then re-stained & protected in a varnish to accentuate the gorgeous grain.
Gold paint was added to the rim, plinth & paws of the feet, and an Art Deco inspired wooden appliqué applied to the rim to add some more interest.
The body of the cabinet was stripped of the old finish, primed & then painted in the beautifully rich ‘Peacock’ mineral paint - a bright teal, with turquoise/green undertones.
The backboard was papered in Emma J Shipley’s ‘Animalia Amazon’ Wallpaper -
Emma writes, ‘This design is inspired by the jungle scenes in the Amazon, featuring jaguars hidden amongst the foliage and playful parrots in the trees. Inject some exoticism into your home with this vibrant paper; rich with striking jungle greens, teals and a pop of contrasting orange, guaranteed to add a luxuriously bold statement to your interior’.
The whole piece was then ptotected in a satin varnish, to give a lovely soft sheen, perfect for the contemporary home.
She has a fully working original lock & key, and a detachable, USB rechargeable, motion sensor light. USB charger provided.
With 2 original glass shelves, she’s beautifully proportioned to display all your drinks, glasses, shoes or perfumes! She’d sit perfectly in any home or salon.

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".

"I am very pleased with the look and quality of the sideboard and enclose a photo of it in-situ in our hallway. It fits perfectly. Thank you for the extreme thoroughness of the packing (it must have taken ages, as it took me a long time to unpack) and it arrived intact. Just one little blip, the tape caught a tiny bit of paint on the bottom edge which came away, but I have been able to touch this in, so no problem with the overall look.
I also added some sensor lights inside to help identify the contents as the interior was dark. They work a treat".
