There is nothing else to call this beautiful piece other than "The Kiss".
I was so inspired when i found this decoupage paper by Mint by Michelle that the only thing I saw it on was this old broken dark mahogany corner unit..it looked so depressed that I had to give it what it deserved! tender loving care. I have always loved the paintings of Gustav Klimt as I love gold mixed with nature. so i set about giving this piece a makeover. I have continued the colours, texture and gold throughout the whole piece. This is a one off..never to be repeated. She will look amazing in any home, modern or old. The colouring will go with any modern furniture but will equally fit in with old, mid century colouring. The golds and oranges, yellows and copper bring sunshine to any corner. She is small enough to fit in but big enough to hold all your bits and pieces. The original key works and will hide away your secrets!..The top is gold with glass shelves and the inside is painted black all waxed for extra protection. she has been aged on the corners and coloured wax has been rubbed in giving it a fabulous shimmer.

As with all my furniture it is old and second hand so may have some bumps and scratches. I tend to work with these as believe they add to the character and show us the journey in life they have had. (i always wander what secrets they hold!!)

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".

"I am very pleased with the look and quality of the sideboard and enclose a photo of it in-situ in our hallway. It fits perfectly. Thank you for the extreme thoroughness of the packing (it must have taken ages, as it took me a long time to unpack) and it arrived intact. Just one little blip, the tape caught a tiny bit of paint on the bottom edge which came away, but I have been able to touch this in, so no problem with the overall look.
I also added some sensor lights inside to help identify the contents as the interior was dark. They work a treat".
