Edwardian Mahogany Inlaid Ladies Writing Desk
A charming Edwardian ladies writing desk featuring elegant inlaid detailing and a rich green leather top. This piece has a timeless appeal and remains sturdy, with solid legs and original brass-effect handles adorning the front drawer.
The leather writing surface is in good overall condition, with some light bubbling and a small scar at the front edge — both consistent with age and use, and not affecting functionality.
The main front drawer runs smoothly and aligns well, offering practical storage with a matching inlaid finish. The upper section features three small drawers with similar inlay, all of which open and close easily. Please note: the fretted gallery that would have originally sat along the top rear edge is now missing, though this does not impact usability.
There is a loss to the wood on the front left corner of the left-hand top drawer — visible in photos. The back and sides show minor surface wear appropriate to its age. The top section is removable, held in place with dowels, allowing for flexible display or easier transport.
A characterful and functional antique, ideal for those seeking a piece with both beauty and authenticity.

This is the second time we've bought off Upcite and will always return. This time around, we bought a Victorian Mahogany Chest Of Drawers (£429 including P&P) from Timeless Furniture LTD UK. We contacted Timeless Furniture (Wrexham) through the messages section and they (Dave) were super helpful in confirming P&P will be covered their end but also went out of their way to coat the chest of drawers with another round of woodworm treatment, which was much appreciated. The drawers had been treated before but Dave offered to do it again to allay our concerns. So, once they confirmed this we punched it. The nest of tables are very tastefully done, they are the final piece of furniture in our living room and we're very happy with them. An absolutely stunning, one-of-a-kind vintage cabinet, lovingly restored by Julie and Mark, whose craftsmanship and attention to detail really shine through. The delivery process, unfortunately, didn’t go to plan, with damage caused by the courier, but both Cole at Upcite and Julie and Mark were incredibly supportive throughout.
