With a history dating back to the 1890s, G Plan is still a very fashionable and highly sought-after furniture brand, celebrated internationally for its clean lines, craftsmanship and use of high-quality wood. Oak in this case.

This gorgeous dressing table, from the 1950s Librenza range, ( its age is identifiable by the golden manufacturer stamp on the interior of the drawers), is the perfect example of G Plans minimalist engineered design and style ethos.

Nearly 75 years old, it has been stunningly, yet sympathetically upcycled in a beautiful colour called “Lagoon”, a lovely teal shade. This very clever choice sets off the honeyed tones of the oak frame to perfection and makes the wood grain really “pop”.

As you can see, the Dressing table has a total of 5 drawers. 2 of equal size on either side of the kneehole, with a 5th drawer sitting across the top. It’s the ideal combination of storage and just perfect for all your bedroom accessories or smaller items of clothing.

The solid light Oak frame is in exceptional condition for its age, and so has just had nourishing polish with natural beeswax along with the elegant statement black Librenza legs. The brass adjustable feet and the original solid brass handles too have been buffed to a shine making them really pop against their new blue backdrop.

The surface of the dressing table shows some signs of fading, perhaps from the sun, but in no way detracts from the overall beauty of the piece. In fact, these small imperfections just add to the history, mystery, and charm of preloved pieces…. If only they could talk!

The triple mirror completes the dressing table, which if placed next to, or opposite, a window will bounce sunlight around the room, and elevate it to a completely new level.
