This piece has a story, and part of that story began over a century ago.
An original Edwardian dresser, dated around 1900, made from solid mahogany and crafted with all the fine detailing of the era — delicately carved mirror frame, elegant side shelves, and soft, curved edges. I discovered it in its worn state and chose not to erase its past, but to celebrate it.
What truly inspired this transformation was a trip I took to Morocco. I was moved by the human warmth in every space — worn, layered, full of texture and time. Design there isn’t cold or perfect — it’s alive. Colours fade beautifully, wood cracks with dignity, and every object feels like it has a story to tell. That feeling stayed with me.
So I approached this dresser with the same spirit:
– I left the top in its natural brown mahogany, simply treated with wax to reveal its beautiful grain.
– The mirror and shelves retain their delicate carvings, highlighted gently with bronze-gold wax.
– The body is painted in charcoal black, lightly distressed to reveal hints of rust and history.
– The frame and legs feature Barcelona Orange, softened with brown wax to bring depth and earthiness.
– Inside the drawers, I added green-gold herringbone wallpaper, for a touch of elegance and extra cleanliness.
🗝️ And one special detail: though the original key was long lost, I found a vintage key in an antiques shop some years ago — and incredibly, it fits. It locks the top two drawers perfectly. As though it had been waiting all this time to find the right piece.I’ve intentionally kept small imperfections — tiny marks and textures that speak to its age. They’re not flaws. They’re part of its story.
✨ A soulful, character-filled Edwardian piece — reimagined through the lens of memory, warmth, and craft.

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
