Probably made in the 1930/40s this mirror with bevelled glass was made of oak and is extremely heavy and solid. A metallic copper foil of greens, copper pinks and yellow golds, has ben applied to the whole mirror frame, updating it to something very special and absolutely unique.
The mirror today is the original glass, and so has the patina of nearly 100 years of age with foxed glass. Foxing is where the original silver mirror backing has either worn away or been damaged by dust and mould, causing spots and pattern to the mirror.
The mirror is in its original form on the side which hangs against the wall, the pictures show the back with original writing from manufacture. There are fitting to hang the mirror horizontally, but if you would prefer to hang the mirror vertically new fittings would need to be attached.

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".
