Mid Century Writing Bureau DeskThis stunning Bureau has been totally transformed. The original varnish has been stripped to reveal a beautiful Woodgrain.Painted in a neutral beige colour and the wood has been treated with osmo oil to really make the Woodgrain pop. Unlock the drop down leaf with the original key and the beauty continues inside. Plenty of space for all of that loose paperwork. A small drawer to keep all those little bits and bobs tidy. The drop down leaf has had a hand painted stencil applied in gold. The interior hinges have been sprayed with gold laquer. "I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
