-          Restored & Renovated October 2022 - OAKHAM BLUE HERON SIDEBOARD

THIS JACOBIAN STYLE SOLID OAK SIDEBOARD early 1920’s - 1930’s has been lovingly restored and enhanced to be displayed in any home. This luxurious sideboard steals the show on so many levels. It has exceptional craftmanship and is definitely built to last.

When this sideboard came to us, every inch of it was covered in the most awful, nasty thick white paint.

The whole sideboard, inside and out, was rigorously stripped and sanded back to reveal it’s most beautiful OAK hiding underneath. Afterwards some areas were painted in Fusion Mineral Paint and the other areas were then repeatedly oiled to enhance the beautiful natural grain.

-The painted ares received Fusion Mineral’s Paint - OAKHAM. All of the Gold detail were painted in Roberson Liquid Metal Gold. The inside of the cupboards and drawers I added a hint of colour, selectively chosen to compliment the Heron detail on the sides.

-Osmo Polyx Oil was used to help nourish and protect the raw wood, whilst also bringing the richness of the tones and the depth of the grain. This oil is water repellent and durable which makes it perfect for a piece of dining / living room furniture.

The sides have been prepared to host a unique design called “Golden Orient Blue Herons wading, created by AVALANA Design using beautifully painted watercolours, this golden sunrise landscape shows Great Blue Herons wading through a moodily lit lily pond, surrounded by golden green leaves. It is utterly divine, the more you look, the more detail you will see. It will become an instant focal point in your home. Adding glamour and striking beauty to any interior setting. It truly is a showstopper – AVALANA”

 New hardware has been added to the cupboard doors, 2 gorgeous pear drop wooden keyhole covers in black ebony and 4 solid brass pulls on the drawers.
