This beautiful hand painted solid wood chest of drawers has been completely transformed using high quality mineral paints. It would make a lovely addition to a child’s bedroom.

The whole of the chest of drawers has been sanded back and painted in a cream colour with a Petrol blue colour blended with the cream on the spindles and the base.

To give a softer, more subtle look, I added a taupe colour to the base and blended it into the blue. To add an iridescent glow, I highlighted the curves of the spindle and parts of the base with “Redesign with Prima” Decor Wax in Milky Way.

The sides of the unit have also been blended and I have layered a meadow flowers transfer over the top as well as on the spindles.

The original drawer knobs have been painted using the taupe colour and I have added hand made butterfly embellishments to them.

The base of the inside of each of the three drawers has also been painted in taupe with floral transfers added.

The whole piece has been sealed and protected with a water based varnish.

Very happy with item

We found this really good website called Upcite where we saw lots of different and unusual furniture. We were after something oldie looking to go under the eaves in our little snug room that has oak beams. This needed to be a specific size and look. Soo pleased when we found the Upcite website with a range of possibilities. We ordered a sideboard and it arrived within a few days and fits perfectly. It now looks lovely with it’s Christmas Garland on! From our experience we would recommend Upcite to others.

Item is nice but experience wasn't great

I did eventually receive the sideboard after a lot of back and forth, and the seller reached out to me. It arrived with a few scratches but that’s not the sellers fault and can be touched up. The experience however was rather stressful. I wish the seller had been as proactive from the start and not only after I complained, as it is simply nerve wrecking to spend close to £1000 and then never really hear from them and having to chase them repeatedly and the item not being delivered when it was agreed. Overall I am happy with the sideboard, but my experience wasn’t great and that’s how I genuinely feel.
