Hi there

I am the "Plant Lovers Bamboo Rattan Armchairs & Coffee Table", but you can call me "Lucia".

My makeover Mum knows I have travelled all the way from the Philippines and believes I was made in the 1970’s from bamboo cane and rattan.

It’s been tough, but with time (I took ages), love and attention, I feel ready for my new life with you.

Here is a list of the processes and products used in my refresh:

I have been cleaned, sanded and had my holes and dints filled. Next, I was masking taped off to protect some of my natural bamboo beauty.

My makeover Mummy had to get in some awkward positions to paint all my fiddly bends, curves and criss cross elements. She used Dixie Belle Silk Mineral paint in Midnight Green, and she also made a custom chalk paint mix to touch up parts of my bare bamboo where needed.

I have succulent and cacti Belles and Whistles transfers on each corner of my tabletop, a tattoo sleeve around my chair arms and a cheeky one shoulder tattoo on each chair.

I have been finished with several layers of water resistant polyacrylic topcoat. I feel so young with my glossy shine back.

As with all hand painted, vintage furniture, I have a few minimal signs of wear. We all have a history and I'm not ashamed of mine, I hope you can appreciate how this adds to my character.

I come with 2 plum and green trim memory foam furniture cushions made of durable cotton and linen with a removable, washable cover and non-slip base.

Very happy with item

We found this really good website called Upcite where we saw lots of different and unusual furniture. We were after something oldie looking to go under the eaves in our little snug room that has oak beams. This needed to be a specific size and look. Soo pleased when we found the Upcite website with a range of possibilities. We ordered a sideboard and it arrived within a few days and fits perfectly. It now looks lovely with it’s Christmas Garland on! From our experience we would recommend Upcite to others.

Item is nice but experience wasn't great

I did eventually receive the sideboard after a lot of back and forth, and the seller reached out to me. It arrived with a few scratches but that’s not the sellers fault and can be touched up. The experience however was rather stressful. I wish the seller had been as proactive from the start and not only after I complained, as it is simply nerve wrecking to spend close to £1000 and then never really hear from them and having to chase them repeatedly and the item not being delivered when it was agreed. Overall I am happy with the sideboard, but my experience wasn’t great and that’s how I genuinely feel.
