This elegant English Regency style serpentine sideboard, has been fully stripped and hand painted in “Sawmill Gravy”, a soft beige by Dixie Belle. Described as “a versatile neutral that will make any space feel light and airy”, the rich beige colour complements the natural beauty of the wood, making it a lovely focal point in your home.

Featuring a bow-front design, narrow fluted legs and arrow feet, this piece would add a touch of sophistication to any room.

There are four drawers with dove tail joints and wood bases: the top drawer is felt-lined complete with dividers, perfect for storing your cutlery and other precious items. The two cupboards have fixed shelves, the left hand shelf being full depth whilst the right hand one is 3/4 depth.

Both door fronts have been stripped to show the gorgeous flame burr mahogany grain and treated with Osmo oil in satin. A small painted border in gold highlights the grain and the paint work. A complementary border has been added to the top of the cabinet in the shape of the serpentine.  The whole piece has then been clear waxed to protect.  The handles are the originals, which have been painted gold.

Internally the whole piece has been treated to a hemp base wood balm with a delicate citrus scent, which restores and revives the wood.

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
