This is a such an unusual but beautiful and very striking piece. The shape and unique design is quite rare in this style and so hard to come by, as it mixes a drinks cabinet middle section with sideboard outer sections - so you get the best of both in one. It also now has a gorgeous new design that marries the character and charm of the old with a new and modern look - whilst still keeping original features like that stunning woodgrain on display and really highlighting that rare shape. This really gives it the wow factor! Thanks to this full upcycle inside and out, it’s gone from a tired old sideboard to a stunning statement piece, that’s now sure to be the focal point in any room. It’s ready to be loved for generations again. Plus there’s not another like it - it’s a one of one - and you just don’t get unique, bespoke items like this on the high street. 

Unlike other upcyclers, we like to use fabric on our items to really elevate the overall design and add an additional layer of luxury and depth. This piece features a beautiful Art Deco fan design in velvet fabric, by British designer Anna Hayman. The fabric covers the entire front face of the sideboard, with careful thought to symmetrical pattern placement and pattern matching throughout. The fabric is in subtle blacks and golds which match with the colour of the rest of the piece. Studs have been used to frame the fabric in a brass gold colour, with black velvet ribbons too. The body is painted black which helps to modernise whilst also highlights other  features and make them stand out more - such as the woodgrain or the shape of the item. There’s just a small touch of gold on the feet, the effect has been achieved using a gold leaf foil which fades out up into the leg. Also, a further distressed gold leaf effect on the ornate details on the top brackets to match. The top and sides have been left bare to show off that stunning original walnut woodgrain. It has been stripped back, restored, then treated with a rejuvenating wax oil to make it really sing - it is also hard wearing. We think the design all marries together beautifully. The inside has been transformed too. In the middle section is a drinks cabinet area - the patterned velvet adorns the back to bring the design inside, with painted gold walls and a gold hard wearing textured vinyl base, with a sensor light that comes on as you open the doors. There’s 2 brand new strong glass shelves. The sideboard style outer sections are left wooden and have been rejuvenated with wood wax products which also smell amazing too! The original antique brass ornate handles and hardware have been kept as bare brass, as they were gorgeous and show some character. All sections have working locks. The back is plain black. During the process the entire piece has been stripped, sanded smooth, thoroughly cleaned, painted, finished and sealed by hand and using professional products.

* This is a vintage piece of furniture that has been upcycled, it is not brand new. This means it may have some minor marks/ dents/ blemishes on it from age related wear and tear. It is part of the items character and history. I do pride myself on the finish I achieve when restoring an item so any marks should be very minor. Any antique glass or mirrors may have small scratches or a patina due to age again but nothing major. I do not accept refunds due to this nature.
