This is a unique and one of a kind multi functional unit hand painted in the tiny village of Poolewe off the west coast of the sottish highlands.
Inspired by the coast and sea that surrounds my every day life I have upcycled this old commode into a modern fun multi functional eye catching piece of furniture.

This solid wooden unit has been hand painted in eco organic paint with decoupaged sea scape.
Brand new brass hinges have been added
The bucket inside comes with a lid and handle and is easily is removable for disposal or alternative use.
This now has a number of uses:
Composting portable travel Loo – use off grid, waterless, eco friendly, portable, and suitable for van life (camper van) and camping.
Or it can be used as:
Bench seat with storage
Coffee or side table
Bedside table

"I was looking for a piece to stand next to a small ornate fireplace in our 1920’s build home and kept coming back to this lovely makeover, named ‘Grace’. I’m so delighted to have bought it. Mandy took time and care in delivering it and although she emphasised the fact it was an old piece I can only re-emphasise that that is exactly what I was looking for. It is testament to her skills that she has given ‘Grace’ a wonderful new lease of life. The stencilling on the drawers is top notch; the piece is painted beautifully - including the bits you wouldn’t normally see, which I prefer. The beautifully highlighted claw feet on the bottom of the piece are a real treat to look at, and my beady-eyed art tutor/’general expert on painted stuff’ agreed Mandys’ work is superb – sympathetic to the piece and to a high standard. I know I shall enjoy having Grace grace our home for many years".

"I don’t like to match furniture and love mish mash, quirky and odd looking things lol. I absolutely love them. My house is 203 years old and is grade II listed. I think it makes an old cottage come alive and puts a modern twist on it. I love furniture that tells a story or gets people talking at a house party".
