Boring drab brown? No thank you ✋🏻!This lovely vintage chest of drawers received a makeover with 3 gorgeous tones of blue blended to give depth and shade. (blue Pine, Paisley & French Eggshell from Dusion Mineral)

Once that ugly brown varnish was sanded back it revealed a yummy wood 🪵 grain that only needed a tan paint wash to bring it to life.

The transfer pattern is cotton & eucalyptus and I thought the blue green tones in the eucalyptus leaves as well as the warmer colours of the cotton flowers really complimented the wood and the paint colours perfectly 🍃👌🏻

A piece like this wouldnt be complete without a touch of gold so I used Fusion’s Vintage gold metallic to bling up the hardware and to pick out the engraving detail on the back piece. The whole unit has been protected with Polyvine Satin varnish for a gentle sheen.

During the upcycling process I have taken care to ensure the finish is to a high quality. The paints I use are professional grade specifically for furniture upcycling. I prefer the mineral silk paints rather than chalk paint - this makes my products durable and gives a good quality finish. I use top coats such as Polyvine decorators varnish for added protection.

* This unit has both age and history and has been previously loved, there may therefore be signs of a life well lived. I have however taken care to lovingly restore it (as with all my work) to a beautiful re-loved statement piece that would sit proudly in any home

If it's a perfect factory finish you're after then upcycled may not be the best choice for you. All my pieces are chosen for their character and (like all of us) may have small flaws that add to this.

We're very happy with the chest of drawers. Great touch is supplying a small amount of paint and a brush for touch-ups.
